ProteoNic and Chr. Hansen Sign Service Agreement
ProteoNic, the protein expression experts, and Chr. Hansen, the Danish natural ingredient solution company, have signed a service agreement. The contract specifically includes construct design and cloning for applying its unique yield enhancement products. ProteoNic will also provide support in strain engineering to improve Chr. Hansen’s upstream production.
ProteoNic offers proprietary technologies for enhancing protein expression by optimizing messenger RNA (mRNA). With the support of one of very few companies in the world to address protein expression enhancement through mRNA optimization, instead of the standard DNA transcription methods, Chr. Hansen will be in the position to increase its protein yield while saving on production costs.
By licensing its construct design and cloning methods and offering hands-on support, Chr. Hansen is ensured of optimal success rates as opposed to standard licensing methods.
Hans van den Brink, Dept. manager enzymes at Chr. Hansen: “We have great expectations of the use of ProteoNic’s technology platform for further improvement of our enzyme production system. ProteoNic’s technology will be an important part of our strategy that is aimed at maintaining and improving our competitiveness in the area of production of dairy enzymes.”
Victor Schut, CEO at ProteoNic: “We are very proud that Chr. Hansen has recognized our core technology platform as well as the expertise of our construct engineering. With these services, we will be able to comprehensively support Chr. Hansen in further improving their production material while concurrently ensuring optimal implementation of our proprietary UNic-FTee™ translation enhancement elements. This contract service agreement allows us to develop a long-term relationship with Chr. Hansen to support them in utilizing the full potential of their production strains and process.”
